Privacy Policy

• Account information: name, email address, mobile number, password (hashed), profile photo.
• Vehicle information: vehicle type, make, model, registration number, colour, photos and the unique ParkTag ID linked to it.
• Device & usage information: IP address, device type, browser, operating system, app version, log data, crash reports.
• Location information: approximate location when a tag is scanned (city/region level), shared with the owner of the tag for recovery purposes.
• Payment information: processed securely by our payment partner Razorpay. We do not store full card numbers, CVV or banking credentials on our servers.
• Communications: messages you send to our support team.

• To link physical ParkTags to your verified profile
• To notify you when one of your tags is scanned
• To process payments for tags, subscriptions and recovery services
• To improve, secure and personalise the Services
• To send transactional and, with consent, promotional communications

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only:

• With service providers (hosting, analytics, payments, communications) under confidentiality
• With law enforcement or government authorities when legally required
• With the tag owner, in a limited and anonymised form, when their tag is scanned
• With your explicit consent in any other case

We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations. You can request deletion at any time by writing to support@parktag.me.

Protecting personal information is an important part of how we operate ParkTag. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect the information handled through our Services.

Data transmitted through ParkTag is protected using encrypted connections. For storage and infrastructure, we rely on established technology providers, including Amazon and Google, whose services include security measures such as encryption of stored data.

Passwords are stored in hashed form rather than as readable passwords. Payment information, including full card numbers, CVV and banking credentials, is handled securely by Razorpay and is not stored by ParkTag.

Access to personal information is limited to authorised personnel and service providers who need it to operate, maintain or support the Services.

We regularly review the safeguards used in connection with ParkTag and take appropriate action where security risks are identified. If a security incident affecting personal information occurs, we will investigate it and take appropriate steps, including notifications where required by applicable law.

While no digital service can guarantee absolute security, we aim to use practical and appropriate safeguards to protect the information entrusted to us.

We encrypt your data in transit with TLS, both between your browser and ParkTag and between ParkTag and our database. The database is hosted on MongoDB Atlas, where the underlying storage is encrypted at rest with AES-256. Passwords are never stored in a readable form — they are hashed with bcrypt and cannot be recovered, even by us. We do not store full card numbers, CVV or banking credentials at all; those stay with Razorpay. Access to production data is restricted, and we review the Services for security issues on an ongoing basis. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we continue to strengthen our safeguards.

Depending on your jurisdiction (India DPDP Act, GDPR, etc.) you have the right to:

• Access, correct or delete your personal data
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority

ParkTag is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use essential cookies for authentication, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how our website and app are used. You can manage cookies via your browser settings.

We also use the Meta pixel so we can show ParkTag ads to people who have used the service. It loads on our website, in the owner dashboard, and on tag scan pages. On a scan page the tag reference is removed from the web address beforethe pixel loads, so we never send Meta the vehicle’s number plate, the tag code, or anyone’s phone number from a scan. Meta’s automatic form-field collection is switched off for our pixel, so it only receives the specific events we send it.

We send some conversion events to Meta from our servers rather than from your browser. Where those events identify a person, the identifier is a customer’s own phone number or email address, sent only as an irreversible hash. Scanning someone else’s vehicle never produces one of these events.

On our website and our shop and checkout pages we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use them (clicks, scrolling and page layout), so we can improve them. Clarity masks what you type, and the delivery address and verification steps are masked entirely. It is not used on the owner dashboard or on tag scan pages. Microsoft’s privacy statement applies to that data.

You can opt out of Meta advertising in your Meta account’s ad settings, and of Google Analytics using Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app.
